Doc Band Casting

Published by under family

Today, Ally got cast for her doc band. The experience involved taking a plaster cast of her entire head. Now for those of you who are familar plaster, will understand that this is not an instant process. So if you ever have wondered “What would a 6 month old look like if I took a plaster cast of her head and held her still for 15 minutes” Well, wait no more !

Ally and her feelings about plaster casting

During the processThe good news is that all of this hard work will be worth it when her head is reshaped. Although, we all agree, she can not get much cuter.

If you are not around her every day, you might not think that her head is misshapen at all; however, if you look at the picture below you will see two lumps that are her ears. As you can see, they are way off, this is because her entire head is skewed causing her forehead and cheek to protrude. The back of head also has a severe flat spot. During the appointment they took some photos, I will post them when I get them.

The two “lumps” are where her ears are located.

Japanese museum lets public touch $2 million gold bar, and thieves steal it

Published by under thoughts

Seriously, have you seen this story?  http://www.dispatch.com/national/national.php?story=254088.

The museum wanted to let the public touch this bar of gold, so they did not put it in a case or alarm it in anyway.  The results:  someone took it !

Now I know what you are saying.

We live in a society, where people are not inherently bad.  I agree not all people are bad and I know that thousands must have walked by it touched it and been amazed by the opportunity.

Unfortunately, we live in a society where there are those 1%-ers that look at kindness as an opportunity to exploit and that is what happened.  They walked by it took it and were amazed by the opportunity.

I don’t think we should walk around in fear thinking everyone is bad; however, we can not have our heads in the sand either.

Just a thought . . .

Email to Stephen Colbert

Published by under everything else

The email I sent to the Colbert nation:

I would like to let Mr. Colbert know that freedom eludes us here in Ohio. In an attempt to pursue happiness, in this great country, by supporting big business, Colbert and by virtue of proxy the president as well as my desire for sweets, I stopped by the local Kroger to pick up a pint of the Americone Dream. It became apparent that I was thrust into oppression and had wondered into a store that hates freedom. I mean they had French Vanilla. You cannot support the president and the quest for truthiness sitting on the couch with a pint of French vanilla, it just isn’t right. I am pretty sure this store should be on the Presidents’ axis of evil; however, when I searched, the store was not listed. I assume it is an oversight, probably one of the reasons those US attorneys were let go. I will continue my pursuit for freedom’s tasty treat and in the meantime you should put stores on notice. If you don’t stock the Americone Dream you must hate America.

Family at the Car Show

Published by under family

This weekend we went to the car show. The highlight for her was the “Daddy Helicopter” ride which by the way was the highlight for Daddy too.

Ally

Fun was had by all, Nicholas and his friend enjoy the sun roof of a Hummer. No, for the 100th time, we are not buying a Hummer or the BMW convertible (Ellen said no to that one)
