Pumpkin Patch trip!!

Published by under family

We went to the pumpkin patch (Circle S Farms) with our friends the Brunners on Saturday. They had lots of stuff for the kids to do there, including some farm animals to check out, a hay maze, a tractor to climb on, a barn that had huge hay bale ‘steps’ that led up to huge slides at the top of the barn. I lost count of how many times Nicholas helped Ally climb up to the top and took her down the slide on his lap. Of course we got to go on a hayride out to the pumpkin patch too. On the way out, we asked Ally what kind of pumpkin she was going to get. . big?. . .little? Ally said that she wanted one with eyes and a smile on it! LOL! Funny moment number two came when we were all out in the field looking for the ‘perfect’ pumpkin for her. She found one that she liked, picked it up by the stem and stood up. She then proceeded to squeal and drop it like a hot potato. “oohhh. .a bug!” She proceeded to reject many others that we showed her, though she did continue to look around by herself. She then went on to tell us that she was looking for a ‘clean one’! Keep in mind, we all have old shoes and boots on because it had rained most of last week. . .LOL! Clean was not in our vocabulary for this family outing! She finally picked a tiny little pumpkin and started carrying it around. I showed her yet another one (a relatively clean, more carve-able one) and she rejected it because the stem was ‘yucky’. I took a tissue out of my pocket and wrapped it around the ‘yucky’ stem. Liking that idea, she took the tissue off of my pumpkin and wrapped it around the stem of hers and we returned to the wagon. . . with a very small, relatively clean, not-very-carve-able, tissue wrapped pumpkin carried by our own pumpkin named Ally. 🙂

Double Trouble

Published by under family

Two little girls + running water = potential trouble
Ally and Annabel wanted to ‘wash their hands’ (for 10 minutes) in the sink. . I thought they were so cute stretching up to reach the water. At one point, Ally found Annabel’s toothbrush. . .after we convinced her that she didn’t need to use it herself, she decided to ‘help’ Annabel and try to put toothpaste on it for her. Nice thing to do, but not when she’s trying to dispense Softsoap onto it! LOL!

Nah. . she’s not spoiled

After picking up Ally at the babysitters one day, she announced that she wanted to have a PARTY! We asked her what she would have to eat at this party. She definitively said “cupcakes, grapes, cookies and chips”. Little did I know that daddy was taking her requests very seriously as he bypassed our house and drove straight to Kroger to fulfill her wishes. We came home and immediately served up our party. . just as Ally ordered. It was nice to have dessert before dinner, I must admit.

Mustang Ally and Avery

Published by under family

Bryan’s sister and her family came to Columbus this weekend. Ally and Avery had an absolute ball together! Ally is just figuring out how to drive her Mustang, so she was loving that Avery could drive her around.

Here they were singing songs together and giggling up a storm.

After playing outside for hours, they came in and got their PJs on. . .Avery passed down a box of clothes to Ally and a Blues Clues silky nightshirt was included. Ally was thrilled to wear it and they played until they both literally passed out. We say all the time how much we wish we all lived closer.

Artist in the making?

Published by under family

Up until recently, Ally’s drawings have consisted of pretty unrecognizable scribbles and the occasional shape. This week, she was drawing on her Magnadoodle and as I walked by, I noticed that her drawing has progressed a few steps! She told us who each person was but I can’t remember who was who. LOL!

Ally was pretty proud of herself and I guess Tigger still looks happy, huh?
(and I wonder why I can never find her hair bows?)
