Talking to Daddy on the phone

Published by under family

Bryan is traveling for work and is in the middle of his 2 week trip to Chicago (he got to come home for the weekend though) 🙂 While Ally enjoys listening to him on the phone, she doesn’t really talk back very much. It’s a one-sided conversation for Bryan. . but when he says “Bye Bye. .talk to you later”, she gets very sad as you can see above. 🙁

Luckily Bryan came home that night and her frown turned upside down into THIS huge smile!

“This Girl” mini book

Published by under family,photography

A friend of ours, Stacy Brunner has done some awesome mini scrapbooks and I’ve been dying to do one too. This was my first one and it was SO much fun! It is made using the cardboard-like coasters from restaurants. My next mini-book will be ‘This Boy’ (about Nicholas of course) made out of a dozen circular coasters that Nicholas scored for me at a Cleveland Olive Garden. (thx buddy!) I’ve told a few people about this project and how fun it was but some are having trouble envisioning it . . .so here it is for all to see. . .virtually!

A Day at Grandma’s

Published by under family

Ally’s sitter had the day off yesterday so she got to spend the whole day with Great Gramma and her sister Geneva who came up to visit from W. Virginia. They played outside in the dirt most of the day and had a ball! Ally was exhausted and filthy from head to toe. She even had dirt inside her shoes and braces. Ally and Geneva’s shnauzer named Fancy had a great time playing outside too. Ally likes to clap her hands and call Fancy when she wanders too far away and to throw her red stuffed toy and watch her chase it 🙂 It’s hilarious!! After soaking in a warm bath, Ally was sparkly clean and super happy!

First Ice Cream Trip of the Season!

Published by under family

My parents came out to our house for dinner tonight and brought my grandfather (dad’s dad) as well. He’s 92!
We grilled some chicken, had some delicious corn, rolls and brownies. Then we drove down the street to Handel’s Ice Cream and got our first ice cream of the season. Ally got to her first baby cone and ate it all by herself! She doesn’t like the cone itself though. I kept telling her to take a bite but she kept saying “uh oh” and just handed it to me once she ate most of the ice cream out of it. She made a wonderful mess. . .and her face says it all. . . YUUUMMMMM ! ! !

Those are some BIG shoes!

Published by under family

Ally decided to try on her daddy’s boot yesterday. She likes to help us out and ‘tie’ our shoes occassionally. She pulls the laces out straight, scrunches them up in her hands, then kind of smooshes them on the top of the shoe. That’s how it’s done, right?? 🙂
