Nicholas, Ally and I went up to Cleveland to see my sister’s new house and to visit for the weekend. The weather was unseasonably warm so we spent a lot of time outside enjoying the beautiful fall colors. Their new house is within walking distance of a HUGE park with lots of gorgeous scenery, rivers, creeks etc. Here is a picture of my sister Anne and I and one of Anne & Claudette with their dog Nashaya.

Nicholas has become good friends with George, one of Anne’s neighbors. George is a boat builder (remote control ones) and Nicholas is IN LOVE since George let him ‘steer’ for a long time today. That is ALL Nicholas wants for his birthday and Christmas. 🙂 These pix are of Nicholas and George taking it out of the water.

What does Nicholas think of Ally? This is the question that we get asked most of the time. Does 10 yrs make a difference? Is he jealous of the attention she gets?

I believe this picture sums it all up. Nicholas just adores Ally, and she him. Their may be a difference in age, but the love shared by siblings is something special. Oh, yea, of course they fight sometimes . . . 🙂

Here is a picture of our campsite when we went camping over Labor Day weekend. The other picture is the view from the door of our camper. The campground was full, but looking toward the pond, we couldn’t tell!

We took Nicholas up to the field above the campground to see if there was enough wind to fly his big dolphin kite. There was and he had a great time flying it for about an hour. Ally enjoyed watching it swoop up and down too- The last picture shows Ally reaching for her favorite person- DADDY! She has been 100% daddy’s girl since that weekend. (which makes daddy very, very happy)

We went camping near Dayton over Labor Day weekend and had a LOT of fun.  Among other things, we visited the Air Force Museum and went swimming.  This was Ally’s first time swimming and she LOVED it.  One of Nicholas’ favorite planes at the museum was the F15.   Ally just took it all in 🙂

WATER BALLET ANYONE??  We absolutely cracked up at Ally.  At the same time we were swimming, there was karaoke going on in the near-by activity shelter at the camp ground.  (Might I mention really BAD karaoke for the most part) and Ally kept raising her arms during what appeared to be her favorite parts.  She was as entertaining as the karaoke was NOT so much 🙂  Doesn’t it look like baby water ballet?? 

116 pints to be exact!  With the help of Nicholas and Bryan’s grandmother, we made a LOT of grape jelly last weekend.  The grapes came from the Ireman’s garden in Croton-they are good friends of mom and dad’s.  The bunches of grapes were wonderfully picturesque-just gorgeous.  Bryan and Nicholas took some pictures of them-Can you tell who’s pictures are who’s??  So. . .who wants some jelly?  🙂

Nicholas spent every evening last week at Maranatha Baptist Church at basketball camp.  He did it last year and loved it so he thought he’d go back for another year.  Next year he’ll be too old, but once he hits 8th grade, he can help out the coaches.  He learned a lot of skills and brushed up on what he learned last year.  He’s an awesome shot! 

We went over to Ally’s friend Kendall’s house last week and the girls had a great time together.  They’re not quite old enough to play ‘together’ – they more play around each other.  🙂  They did have a great time making laps through the kitchen, dining room and living room.  Ally was jealous when Kendall got her DOC band put back on.  I think Ally misses hers a little!  It was nice for us moms to get a chance to chat too!
