Family Easter trip

Published by under family

This year my family chose a new location for our Easter trip. I found a huge 3 story, 6 bedroom house in Huron, Ohio that backs up to Lake Erie. It easily held all 22 of us and had a ping pong table and pool table which the kids loved of course. The view was beautiful. There was even a little park just a block or two away. Our only complaint was that they weather was a bit chillier than we would have preferred. Either way, we had a wonderful time is this gorgeous old house. More pictures to come soon of the Easter egg hunt and other fun stuff.

Coloring Easter eggs or Ally?

Published by under family

Ally got to color Easter eggs for the first time this year. She loved dropping them in the color (a little too much at times) and obviously didn’t bother with the little dipper thingy after the first egg. She preferred using her hands. .esp. in the BLUE!

Funny story while coloring eggs. . . Ally was really into coloring with the Q-tip things and accidentally squeezed her thumb into the egg too hard. . . (see the green one in the middle?) The egg cracked, Ally let out a dramatic gasp and exclaimed “oh! It hatched!”
LOL!

Ally’s first trip to the Dentist

Published by under family

Last week we took Ally to the dentist for the first time. . . We held off last year since she’s always been super sensitive with anything in her mouth, strong tastes etc. We started off nice and easy and decided to just have the dentist take a quick peek in her mouth and do a super quick brush with just the teeniest bit of floride. . all in all he was done in a little over a minute. She wanted to sit on Nicholas’ lap since she saw him get his teeth cleaned. She was cool with it until the chair laid back and the dentist approached. In the following progression of pictures, you can clearly see what her feelings were regarding the whole ordeal. BUT. .she survived and got a balloon dog and a tooth shaped ring that left her smiling by the time we left the room 🙂

We’re good. .sittin’ with my big brother. . .

Hopscotch!

Published by under family

Ally likes to ‘play’ hopscotch now. . though her version doesn’t actually involve any hopping or jumping- Tonight’s version involved running up and down the numbers and telling Bryan and I when to “GO”. There are times when she tries to ‘hopscotch’ and she makes one narrow step, then a wide one. . .then a narrow step. .Too funny! She drew with her sidewalk chalk some tonight and wasn’t happy about the chalk dust on her hand. She had the same problem last year but got past it after playing with it a few times 🙂

Modeling some summer clothes

Published by under family

Today’s warm weather inspired me to go through some of Ally’s clothes that I have put away for this coming summer. She had a ball trying on some cute summer dresses and skirts. She insisted on getting her big sunglasses and wore them around the house saying “Ready for Beach!” over and over again. I’m not sure where she got this as she’s never been to a beach! LOL! I think we are ALL ready for the beach. . or at least consistently warm weather 🙂 I caught this picture of her with her sunglasses on the top of her head wearing a very nice summer ensemble. The skirt is size 12-18 months. . yes, she’ll be 3 in a few months. LOL!

Exactly what is happening here?

Published by under family

Any guesses? Yes, she’s awake. I’m not sure why but Bryan has the magic touch when it comes to cutting Ally’s nails. She’ll let me do it but I have to wrangle her to get her to hold still long enough for me. THIS is what happens when Bryan does it. Have you ever seen something like this? She lays motionless. LOL!

I think she was irritated here that I was disturbing her spa pedicure session with photos. How is this for a dirty look?? 🙂

Our little ragamuffin

Published by under family

Yesterday while I was fixing dinner, Ally decided to help herself to some cereal. I knew she had the container but I admittedly wasn’t paying attention to details. A few minutes later I looked over at her while talking to Bryan and cracked up as I finally took in the ‘whole picture’ !! Note the following: she is only wearing one shoe, her barrette is missing so her hair is in her face and she is eating cereal right out of the container! Though it looks like she was fending for herself, I swear we were right there. . . LOL! Gotta love a little ragamuffin!
